You don't have to use random bathrooms to change diapers and MCDonnalds to eat. If your kid is less than 2 years old, it is free. I flew with my 2 years old daughter many times, the airport officials never asked any papers for the kid (domestic flights). So they can take your word for the age. I took my daughter to hawaii (12 hours on the plane, including 1 stop). She was great, except she didn't go ti toilet by herself. If you didn't fly with your baby yet, make sure s/he use the toilet as normal. Kids may think it is not possible in the sky. Plane is safer and better for kids.
